Due to venue capacity the total number of accompanying person tickets available are limited. One individual congress ticket holder is entitled to one (1) accompanying person ticket, while tickets are available. Tickets are non-refundable.

    • Please do not send cash in the post. Bank draft cheques and bank cheques are also not accepted.

Please read the content below carefully before you register. After logging in and completing the registration, it will be regarded that you have read, understand and agree with allthe content of this declaration.

The 2011 International Design Alliance (IDA) Congress, themed 'Design at the Edges,' will be held 24, 25 and 26 October 2011 in Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei).

The congress venue is the Taipei International Convention Center, Taipei.

The 2011 IDA Congress is organised by the Taiwan Design Center, herein referred to as the Organisers, and is licensed to the International Design Alliance, comprising the following partners: The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid), The International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), and The International Federation of Interior Architectural/ Designers (IFI).

Participants can purchase tickets via the online registration system by registering a user profile with a unique login name that can be accessed multiple times.

Applications for tickets can also be processed via the paper (print) copy available for download.

Registration will not be processed without a full or valid payment.

The individual participant congress registration ticket will admit the paying attendee to all plenary and breakout sessions of the Congress, the opening and closing sessions, lunch and refreshment breaks during the 3-day programme, as well as the social programme events.

1.0 DECLARATION OF PRIVACY

When registered users enter personal information to the website, actively login or modify their account information, the website will save the personal information entered for use by the Organisers for event operational requirements. Relevant information may need to be provided to goods and services providers in order to complete business transactions and make payments for goods or services to the event.

The website will deliver e-mails of good intentions to the registered users related to the 2011 IDA Congress from the Organisers. Registered users will be offered an easy unsubscribe option to cancel delivery of these promotional messages.

The Organisers are contracted to provide the complete list of registered participants including e-mail addresses to the IDA Partners to deliver e-mails of good intentions, including electronic newsletters, to the registered participants following the 2011 IDA Congress. Registered users retain the right to opt out to stop receiving e-mails from the IDA Partners.

Registered user personal information entered to the website or survey will not be revealed, exchanged, made public, rented, sold to any group or individual, nor used with any other intention, without the permission of the registered users, unless the Organisers communicate to registered users in advance or according to the regulations of related laws.

If the Ministry of Justice of Taiwan asks the Organisers to provide the personal information of registered users for reasons of public safety, the Organisers hold an obligation to cooperate according to the Law of Taiwan. Under these circumstances, the personal information and online activity records, including login and logout times, online time, online sources and so on may be reviewed by the Ministry of Justice of Taiwan.

If any person(s) interferes with, or causes damage to the rights and interests of the users and/ or members of this website, or any related third party, no matter if he or she is with or without intent, the Organisers may reveal the personal information and website activity to the proper authorities to take necessary legal actions to those person(s) interfering or causing damages. The personal information of those person(s) will also be shared with the proper authorities.

When working on event operational requirements with personal information entered by registered users, besides the promise to protect the registered user's privacy as explained herein, the Organisers will endeavour to adopt proper steps to ensure the safety of all data saved through the website.

2.0 SELF PROTECTION MEASURES

Registered users should keep their personal login details and any other personal information private, and not share this information with any third party.

The Organisers will not ask registered users about their personal bank information through the congress website, by telephone nor e-mail. Registered users are advised to take care and keep personal and bank information safe and private.

Registered users are advised to logout immediately after they have ended their session and close the window browser.

Registered users are advised to take care when using public access computers, or a computer shared with other users, to logout after the end of their session and close the window browser to protect your personal information.

The transmission of internet information cannot be assured to be absolutely safe, although the Organisers endeavour to ensure the congress website includes the safety measures required to protect registered users' personal information entered, the Organisers cannot assure the safety of the information transmitted by registered users to this website, or the online activities and services transmitted from this website to registered users.

By accepting these terms and conditions, the registered users therefore acknowledge these risks and that neither the Organisers, the IDA Partners, the 2011 IDA Congress Organising Committee nor the official partners and sponsors will have any related responsibility or any other legal responsibility.

3.0 THIRD PARTY LINKS

The webpages contained in this site (that start with URL: http://www.2011idacongress.com/) may include URL links and other connections to third party/ external websites or web-pages. Any third party/ external websites or webpages linked to the 2011 IDA Congress website are neither under the management nor the ownership of the Organisers.

Third party website policies regarding their content and privacy are separate to those of the 2011 IDA Congress and are not stipulated in these terms and conditions. Registered users of the 2011 IDA Congress website are advised to treat third party websites separately and refer to their respective user terms and conditions.

If any third party/ external websites connected to the 2011 IDA Congress site conduct any improper activities on protecting, using or dealing with personal information shared by users of these sites, neither the Organisers, the IDA Partners, the 2011 IDA Congress Organising Committee nor the official partners and sponsors shall have any related responsibility or any other legal responsibility.

4.0 RESPONSIBILITY LIMITATION

According to the privacy protection terms and conditions explained herein, registered users will assume responsibility for their privacy protection if they act against these terms and conditions purposely or due to significant fault of the registered user.

5.0 CANCELLATION POLICY

A refund application form is available upon request from the website: http://www.2011idacongress.com/.

Refund application forms can be submitted by e-mail: register@2011idacongress.com / fax: +886 2 27458572 or by registered post: No.133, Guangfu S. Rd., Xinyi Dist., Taipei City 110, Taiwan (R.O.C.) Team of 2011 IDA Congress Taipei.

Applicants are responsible for verifying whether their refund application form was received by the Organisers.

Refund applicants are responsible for submitting a completed and accurate form. Incomplete or inaccurate forms will be classed as invalid and will not be processed.

Refund applications will be assessed and processed upon application and may take up to one month to process.

A percentage of the refund costs, less any bank charges, will be deducted by the Organisers for administrative processing as per the refund schedule below.

All transaction fees and exchange rate differences are to be met by the refund applicant. The refund currency will be that of the currency used for registration.

Once the refund application has been verified, the refunded amount will be made by bank wire transfer. The refund notice will be send via e-mail by the Organisers after the refund applications have been processed.

Refund schedule

  • Application before 28 February 2011, full refund will be made less bank charges.
  • Application before 30 April 2011, a cancellation charge of 20% will be deducted from the refund.
  • Application before 30 June 2011, a cancellation charge of 50% will be deducted from the refund.
  • Application after 1 July 2011, no refund will be made.
  • Differences in exchange rates are to be absorbed by the registrant.

6.0 SUBSTITUTIONS

Name changes are only accepted when the original person and his/ her substitute represent the same company, organisation or institute.

Applicants are responsible for verifying whether their substitute application form was received by TDC.

Substitute applicants are responsible for submitting a completed and accurate form. Incomplete or inaccurate forms will be classed as invalid and will not be processed.

All substitute forms must be received before 31 August 2011. Any forms received after this date will not be considered.

7.0 PAYMENT

All congress ticket payments should be made payable to Union Bank via the online registration systemat http://www.2011idacongress.com(Only VISA, MASTER, or JCB are accepted.) or Taipei Fubon Bank using the paper (print) registration form.

The preferred mode of payment is via the online registration system at http://www.2011idacongress.com that facilitates credit card payments.

If you prefer to pay by bank T/T transfer please select remittance (invoice) via the online registration system, alternatively please refer to the payment instructions on the paper (print) registration form, available for download.

The registered user will be required to pay service charges and related differences in exchange rates for each domestic and international telegraphic transfer. The actual amount will be made available by the banks.

The Organisers (and the IDA) cannot guarantee the accuracy of the exchange rates
published in this congress website. You should confirm exchange rates and bank charges before making transactions that could be affected by changes. Foreign currency rates provided through this congress website are a guide only and are subject to your bank’s rates and charges. The rates shown in TWD are final. The Organisers hold the right to amend the amounts and deadlines. Rates for actual transactions may vary, and the Organisers (and the IDA) are not offering transactions at any rate.

Please do not send cash in the post. Bankers draft cheques and bank cheques are also not accepted.

For individuals that cannot pay by credit card or bank transfer before the event are requested to contact the congress office: register@2011idacongress.com for alternative arrangements.

A receipt of payment will be provided to each registered user via e-mail upon confirmation of full and valid ticket purchase. A receipt for the payment will be issued to the registrant during check-in at the Congress.

Credit card payments will be processed through the congress website online registration system via the Organisers trusted bank: Union Bank (http://www.ubot.com.tw/english/Default.htm).

Union Bank offers a credit card online payment method.

When registered users select 'online credit card payment' through the congress website online registration system, payment is processed using secure encryption to ensure safe and secure payment transactions.

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is an encryption mechanism adopted to protect personal information transmitted using channel encryption, such as credit card numbers, account number, passwords, etc.

The complete and complex security provided by SSL ensures that all information communicated via the '2011 IDA Congress Taipei' website is transmitted through a secure channel, and thus absolutely reliable.

Before filling in your personal information and making payment, registered users are advised to check if the SSL encryption system is visible and the 'lock' icon is visible [example].

Registered users can first check whether the webpage has already started the SSL encryption system by checking whether a small "lock" icon on your screen that is in a locked mode (rather than open mode).

8.0 VISAS

Individuals who have purchased a ticket to the 2011 IDA Congress are not automatically granted a visa to enter Taiwan.

Individuals are responsible for having a valid passport and to apply and obtain a valid visitors visa for entering Taiwan for the duration of the events.

Congress participants are strongly advised to check the relevant visa requirements well before travel via the government websites of Taiwan.

All registered users will be provided with a letter of invitation from the Organisers through the online registration system.

Applications made via the paper (print) registration form will be sent a letter of invitation from the Organisers via the e-mail address provided.

Registrants from Mainland China who register via the online registration system may run into difficulties applying for a Taiwan visa. They are advised not to do so, but instead, register through one of the following partners of the Organisers:

The Government on Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) holds the right to deny entry to persons who do not meet the requirements of a temporary tourist visa or are prohibited from entering Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) in accordance with its laws and regulations.

9.0 TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

The congress ticket purchase does not include travel and accommodation.

Congress participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation.

Participants are advised to check the preferred list of hotels and airlines available via the congress website and make arrangements through their respective booking services.

10.0 OTHER CONDITIONS

The Organisers reserve the right at any time, with or without notice, as their absolute discretion and without necessarily giving any reasons thereof, to cancel or postpone the events, to change venues and/ or timetables, to make changes or amendments to the published programme of events and to withdraw any invitation to attend the events.

Neither the IDA Partners, the Organisers, the 2011 IDA Congress Organising Committee, nor their partners and sponsors shall be responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever of any nature that may be incurred by delegates and accompanying guests, including loss or damage to their luggage and/ or their personal belongings, or due to the cancellation of the Congress and associated events, as a result of unforeseeable circumstances or an event beyond the control of either the Organisers or the IDA Partners, such as force majeure.

Neither the IDA Partners, the Organisers, the 2011 IDA Congress Organising Committee, nor their partners and sponsors shall be responsible for any death or injury, including accompanying guests, arising from the Congress and its related services, which includes transportation and associated events and tours.

Congress participants are recommended to purchase adequate personal and travel insurance for the duration of their visit.

Participants with food allergies or particular dietary requirements are advised to pay special attention to the ingredients of the meals, which will be labelled or marked. If indicated during online/offline registration prior to the event, the Organisers can offer vegetarian meals.

By accepting these terms and conditions registered users hereby give their individual permission to have photos and video recordings taken of them, and for those images to be used for promotional purposes by the Organisers and the IDA Partners to aid their promotional activities and to document the event. Photographs may be used in different ways that may include, but will not be limited to, media publications, social networks and other associated websites to the Congress.

IDA Partner Board Members, Icsid Regional Advisors, Icograda Lifetime Friends and IFI Honorary Members & Advisory Council should contact their respective secretariat office for details on registration to the Congress.

Student participants will be required to present a valid educational institute identification card, or official letter from your institution, for verification during on-site registration. The Organisers hold the right to pre-check the authenticity of the institutional details provided upon registration, as well as checking the identification card or official letter from your institution presented during on-site registration. If identification cannot be made, the student must pay the price different with the set price in cash.

Walk-in participants will only be admitted on the basis of space availability at the Congress, and must pay the full congress ticket price in cash before entry to the congress is allowed.

Due to venue capacity the total number of accompanying person tickets available are limited. One individual congress ticket holder is entitled to 1 accompanying person ticket, while tickets are available. Tickets are non-refundable.
